In support of the Integrated Renewal Program – Student project, UBC must continue to ensure that the current student information system (SIS) remains stable until transition to the new SIS is successful. During this transition period, to maintain system stability, the number of changes to the SIS will be restricted & controlled.
In consultation with UBCIT & other stakeholders, changes that will be restricted & controlled to support system stability include:
- Technical changes to SIS code
- Changes or additions of integrations directly with the SIS
- Changes to SIS data structure requested by other applications
In support of minimizing the changes outlined above, the Technical Stabilization Framework for SIS has been developed & approved by UBCIT, Enrolment Services, and the IRP program. This framework is intended to support business continuity for the UBC community while minimizing technical risk during transition to the new SIS. The framework also outlines the plan for the phased restriction of changes to the SIS. Please refer to the UBC CIO’s website for more details on the stabilization framework, managing exceptions to the framework, and the allowable SIS changes for each progressive phase of the framework.
Submit a Change Request
The UBC community may continue to submit change requests so that business solutions that do not require technical SIS changes can be discovered & recommended. Please refer to the ‘Requesting a SIS Change’ page to submit a change request.
