Elections are being held for faculty and staff member representatives on the Board of Governors of the University of British Columbia for the 2026-2029 triennium. For more information about the Board of Governors, please click here.

Faculty Representatives

Positions for eligible faculty members to serve on the Board of Governors are as follows:

  • One (1) person representing the UBC Okanagan faculty members, elected by and from members of the UBC Okanagan faculty
  • Two (2) people representing the UBC Vancouver faculty members, elected by and from members of the UBC Vancouver faculty

Eligibility

Eligible faculty members are all persons with primary appointments to either UBC Okanagan or UBC Vancouver, as applicable, with the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Professor of Teaching, Associate Professor of Teaching, Assistant Professor of Teaching, or Lecturer. Clinical, adjunct, emeritus, sessional, partner, and honorary faculty are not eligible.

  • One (1) person representing the UBC Vancouver non-academic staff members, elected by and from members of the UBC Vancouver non-academic staff

Eligibility

Eligible non-academic staff members are all persons employed by UBC who do not hold an academic appointment meeting the definition of "faculty member" above.
