Information regarding the elections for the joint faculties representatives on the Vancouver and Okanagan Senates of UBC for the 2020-2023 triennium is presented here.  For more information about the Senates of the University, visit senate.ubc.ca.

Eligibility

"Faculty member" is defined as all persons with appointments in the ranks of Professor (Full/Associate/Assistant), Instructor, Senior Instructor, Professor of Teaching, or Lecturer. note that sessional lecturers or emeritus, clinical, adjunct, partner and honorary professors are not eligible.  Representatives of the joint faculties are faculty members who serve as "faculty-members-at large" and can be elected from any of the faculties of a particular campus.

Nominations

Okanagan Senate - Nomination Form

There are 16 positions for joint faculties representatives on the Okanagan Senate.  Fourteen faculty members were acclaimed as elected to these positions in the first round of nominations which closed at 4:00pm on Thursday, November 7th, 2019. Two positions remain available.

Vancouver Senate - Nomination Form

There are 12 positions for joint faculties representatives on the Vancouver Senate.  Nine faculty members were acclaimed as elected to these positions in the first round of nominations which closed at 4:00pm on Thursday, November 7th, 2019.  Three positions remain available.

The second nomination period for the above positions will close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 5th, 2019.

Note: A personal statement of no more than 250 words is requested to be submitted with your nomination form in support of your candidacy.  Statements will be used to inform voters about the candidates should an election prove necessary.  A number of categories of supplemental information are also requested to be submitted, as indicated on the nomination form.

Elections

If necessary, elections for the second round of nominations will be held in early 2020.
