  • An overview of CBEL, for faculty members & community partners
  • Tools and resources to support CBEL Course Design
  • A guide to developing community partnerships and collaborative educational experiences for students
  • Tools and resources to help prepare students to engage with community partners
  • Reflection models, activities and rubrics

Goals

To support faculty in the design, implementation and evaluation of CBEL courses.

Scope

When engaging with the Centre for Community Engaged Learning to develop, modify or redevelop a CBEL course, you can expect to work through this basic process with the support of a CBEL officer and the tools and resources provided in the toolkit.

Timelines

It’s ideal to contact us a year in advance of the course start date to ensure there is ample time to engage with the collaborative course and partnership development processes that make for successful CBEL courses; however we can accommodate shorter time frames.  Our involvement in the development of your course will typically span three years and shift in focus and intensity over time.
