2020 President's Advisory Committee for the Selection of a new Dean of the Faculty of Education
Elections are being held for faculty and students to serve on the President's Advisory Committee for the Selection of a new Dean of the Faculty of Education. As Education is a cross-campus Faculty, elections are for representatives on both campuses.
UBC Vancouver
Faculty members (4 positions available)
Eligible faculty members are all persons with the rank of professor, associate professor or assistant professor, instructors, senior instructors, lecturers and professors of teaching. Clinical, adjunct, emeritus, sessional, partner, and honorary faculty are not eligible.
Four faculty members were elected in an election that closed at 4:00pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2020: Patricia Duff, Jason Ellis, Marianne McTavish, Tom Sork.
Undergraduate student (1 position available)
One undergraduate student was acclaimed as elected in the third and final round of nominations: Ziyad Shukri.
Graduate student (1 position available from either campus)
One graduate student was elected in an election that closed at 4:00pm on Thursday, April 23, 2020: Amanda Fritzlan.
UBC Okanagan
Faculty member (1 positions available)
Eligible faculty members are all persons with the rank of professor, associate professor or assistant professor, instructors, senior instructors, lecturers and professors of teaching. Clinical, adjunct, emeritus, sessional, partner, and honorary faculty are not eligible.
One faculty member was acclaimed as elected in the first round of nominations: Margaret Macintyre Latta.
Undergraduate student (1 position available)
The position remains vacant after a third and final round of nominations.
Graduate student (1 position available from either campus)
The second round of nominations resulted in an election for a graduate student from UBC Vancouver.
Submitting a Nomination
The first round of nominations (all positions) closed at 4:00pm on Monday, March 23, 2020.
A second round of nominations (undergraduate and graduate student positions) closed at 4:00pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
A third and final round of nominations (undergraduate student positions) closed at 4:00pm on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
Instructions for completing and submitting nominations are on the forms themselves. Forms and statements should be scanned and emailed to elections.information@ubc.ca. Deadlines and word limits are strictly observed.
This election is being carried out in accordance with University Policy AP5.
