Elections are being held for Convocation representatives on the Okanagan and Vancouver Senates of The University of British Columbia for the 2023-2026 triennium. For more information about the Senates, please click here.

Convocation Representatives

Positions for eligible Convocation members to serve on the Senates are as follows:

  • Two (2) people representing the Convocation on the Okanagan Senate, elected by and from members of the UBC Convocation
  • Twelve (12) people representing the Convocation on the Vancouver Senate, elected by and from members of the UBC Convocation

Eligibility

Membership in the Convocation is set as all persons who are current or emeriti UBC faculty members with the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Professor of Teaching, Associate Professor of Teaching, Assistant Professor of Teaching, or Lecturer (excluding clinical, adjunct, sessional, partner, and honorary appointments); graduates of The University of British Columbia (or of certain bachelor degree programs formerly offered by Okanagan University College); current or emeriti UBC professional librarians; program directors emeriti; and members of either the Vancouver or the Okanagan Senate. Current faculty members, although eligible to nominate and vote, are not eligible to stand for election.

Submitting a Nomination

Nominations (UBC Okanagan third call) closed at 4 pm on Friday 21 April 2023.

Instructions for completing and submitting nominations are on the forms themselves. Deadlines and word limits are strictly observed. Forms and statements should be scanned and emailed to UBC Elections at elections.information@ubc.ca.
