As an alumnus, current PhD student, and staff member at UBC, I am passionate about ensuring our university continues to strive toward our shared goals in a manner that is inclusive and just. As such, I’d be honoured if you’d consider me for a position on the Chancellor Search Committee.

During my time at UBC I’ve contributed to the campus community in various ways – as an MA student, I participated on the Executive & Bargaining Committee for the UBC Teaching Assistants Union (CUPE 2278). Now as a staff member, I volunteer on my department’s Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee. In my staff role, I am a Program Manager at the Ch’nook Indigenous Business Education Centre, where I manage a scholarship program and a summer program in which we work with a variety of community partners. My current PhD in Education is focused on graduate students and their experiences outside of academia. In all these roles, it has always been and continues to be an honour to represent UBC to our external communities and it’s an even greater privilege to ensure the university is something that I’m proud to represent by engaging in opportunities like this.

Outside of UBC, I enjoy volunteering to give back to my other communities. On the weekend I am a volunteer receptionist at an LGBT health centre in downtown Vancouver. I’m also on the board of a small Vancouver-based chamber music ensemble where I act as Treasurer.

Thank you for your consideration!
