I am interested in representing the Vancouver undergraduate student body at the Committee
for the selection of the new chancellor of UBC. UBC is an internationally recognized institution
with footsteps across many countries, industries, and areas of research – the next chancellor
appointment is not a position to take lightly.
As a 5th year student I have heard over the years the concerns, praises, and ideals of many
undergraduate students of their university and I am ready to represent their voices on the
committee. I view the candidate as someone able to not only grow the institution on campus
but position UBC on the global stage in fostering economic growth, government policy, human
rights, and environmental causes. While these priorities are general and cover large domains, I
will ensure to represent what the undergraduate students at UBC Vancouver voice as their top
priorities for the new chancellor.
