My connections to UBC are rooted in my grandfather’s own experiences in the early 1950’s. During a pivotal time in his life having newly immigrated to Canada following service in WW2 and supporting a young family in India, my grandfather established clear education values for himself, his children, and later – me. His influence led me to UBC nearly 45 years after his own graduation, and my commitment to UBC prevails today as I have moved from being a student to an instructor to a unit lead over two decades.

I am a proud alumnus (BA, Bed, MA) and proud staff member, always having served in the VP Students Portfolio, currently with Athletics and Recreation. Through my professional roles I have steered legacy projects for students, faculty and staff, and community by leading capital projects such as the UBC Aquatic Centre, UBC Thunderbird Park and Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.

My experiences working with the UBC BOG on capital projects, and my leadership on many BOG approved strategies, lend me valuable insight for impactful service as a staff-focused BOG representative. I have proficiency with policy proposal and implementation, and I will get results. If elected as your BOG staff representative, I personally want to help the UBC community continue to expand health and wellbeing opportunities as well as enhance coaching and professional development. I am committed to working hard to create new opportunities for all staff in the same way UBC has long created opportunities for myself and my family.
