Mike C. Stewart, P.Eng.

I am a proud graduate of the University of British Columbia. Like you, I want the University to remain relevant and prominent on an international level. Attention must be given to alumni of UBC – we have just as much invested in UBC as do current students. You are the graduates and working members of the University who are in front of the public on a daily basis. You are the face of the University, and I recognize that in order for the University to flourish, so must you.  As a member of the Senate, I will create an open channel of communication for you to stay connected with the University and with fellow alumni. With my election, you will be able to help shape the opportunities available to alumni, such as networking, and the future direction of the University itself.

As a lawyer and professional engineer I will be able to influence decisions of the Senate to be fair and to reflect your best interests. I wish to be elected as a senator to ensure that, as alumni and faculty, you are well-represented in the Senate’s decisions. I have served on the Senate Committee for Academic Discipline for the past three years and intend to sit on the same committee again if elected.
