As a UBC employee for 11 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with staff and faculty at both campuses in a variety of roles, from spearheading leadership development programs and orientation activities to facilitating team development and Human Resource strategy. More recently, I’ve been responsible for leading strategic planning processes at UBCO, including stewardship of the Aspire visioning process.

These activities have given me a broad view of the campus, as I’ve had the opportunity to work with staff across the university on everything from Aboriginal initiatives to research strategy and capital planning projects. I understand the passion and professionalism that staff bring to UBC, and the massive efforts they’ve invested to make this young campus so successful – from supporting students and faculty to engaging our local communities.

I firmly believe that this dynamic learning community has had a major impact in the social and economic development of this region, and an even greater impact on the growing number of students it welcomes each year, as well as providing UBC a unique opportunity to extend its reach as a public university across the province. I would welcome the opportunity to bring your perspectives to the Board of Governors to help ensure we continue to increase our impact as a diverse, collaborative, innovative and community-engaged UBC campus.

With my many years of leadership experience in a variety of sectors – from education to healthcare and transportation – I believe I would be a highly effective staff representative. Thank you for your support.
