As your incumbent Staff representative to the UBC Board of Governors this past year, I have invested a great deal of time and energy to understand and fully engage with complex issues and opportunities being considered by the Board. I am respectfully seeking your continued support for a second, full term to put this investment to work on your behalf.

A UBC employee for 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with staff and faculty at both campuses in a variety of roles, from spearheading leadership development programs to facilitating team development and Human Resource strategy. More recently, I’ve been responsible for leading strategic planning processes at UBCO, including stewardship of the Aspire visioning process and the UBCO 2040 Outlook. I also represent UBCO at the Central Okanagan Economic Advisory Council.

These activities have given me a broad view of the campus, as I’ve worked with you on everything from Aboriginal initiatives and supporting students to research strategy and capital planning projects. I understand the passion and professionalism that you bring to UBC, and your massive contributions to making this young campus so successful – and a truly essential part of UBC, overall.

I would welcome the opportunity to continue to bring your perspectives to the Board, and to help ensure our 2040 Outlook – that imagines us increasing our impact through enrolment growth, innovative programming, becoming a national leader in the proportion of Indigenous faculty and students, and increasing our faculty complement and annual research activity – becomes a reality.
