I am a Professor with the School of Engineering on the Okanagan campus of The University of British Columbia. I am interested in serving as one of your representatives on the Board of Governors of The University of British Columbia. I have extensive experience with universities within Canada (I have been a faculty member at three of them now), and I would like bring this experience to the Board of Governors. If I am on the Board, I will work tirelessly in this capacity. A priority for me will be ensuring that the Board will work to improve conditions for the staff, faculty, and students of this great university. I consider myself a constructive and cooperative problem solver. I would like to use these skills on the Board in order to make the Okanagan campus of The University of British Columbia even better.

The Okanagan campus is still developing. Buildings are being built, programs are being initiated, and faculty/staff members are being hired. At this critical juncture, we need a Board that is sensitive to the unique character of this particular campus and understands its important contribution to the university as a whole. I will help the Board create conditions on our campus so that excellence is fostered (in terms of teaching, research, and service), while its close and intimate character, that we all enjoy, is maintained.  If I am on the Board of Governors, I will work to ensure that this Okanagan dream becomes a reality.
