The first round of nominations is closed for students to serve on the Okanagan Senate and/or the Board of Governors for a one-year term beginning April 1, 2020. The first round closed at 4:00pm on Friday, February 7th, 2020. 

A second call for nominations for Student Representative of a Faculty to the Senate for the Faculties of Management and Health and Social Development closed at 4:00pm on Friday, March 27, 2020. If required, elections will be held online via WebVote in mid-April 2020.

Student Representative to the Board of Governors (1 position) - Jassim Naqvi was elected to the Board of Governors in an election that closed on Friday, March 6, 2020. 

Student Senator At-Large (6 positions) - Six students were acclaimed as elected in the first round of nominations: Rhys Herzberg, Domitius Jarrouj, Lee Jia Fu, Kristen Morgan, Jassim Naqvi, Venedict Tamondong

Graduate Student Senator (2 positions) - Two graduate students were acclaimed as elected in the first round of nominations: Riley Petillion, Maya Pilin

Student Senate Representative of the Faculty (1 position per faculty)* - The following students were acclaimed as elected in the first round of nominations: Sage Cannon (Creative and Critical Studies), Brendan Heerema (Applied Science). The following student was acclaimed as elected in the second round of nominations: Robin Metcalfe (Health and Social Development). The following student was elected in an election that closed on Tuesday, April 28, 2020: Gursagar Singh (Management). 

*Please note that the term for the Student Senator from the Faculty of Education ends in October 2020. Nominations for this position will not be called for at this time. Further, nominations for the Student Senators from the soon-to-be-established Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science will be called for once the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (also known as the Barber School of Arts and Sciences) is divided into two autonomous new faculties in July 2020. 

The instructions for completing and submitting the forms are on the forms themselves. Please read the instructions carefully. Deadlines and word limits are strictly observed.

We request that completed forms be accompanied by a statement of not more than 250 words in support of the nominee’s candidacy. Statements are to be written in the first person and submitted no later than the deadline above.
