Dr. Andrea Dulay

UBC is very near and dear to me.  It is not only a university but a legacy for my family as it has been a ‘generational’ learning institute cherished by my elders, myself and now my own children.  I earned all but one of my degrees (Ph. D) from this wonderful place of higher learning.  Having close to 25 years of experience as a public school teacher in BC, being an adjunct professor in the UBC Faculty of Education for the last several years, serving both as a school and faculty associate for teacher candidates of the UBC Faculty of Education, and most importantly being a mother of 4 children in the BC education system encourages me to have a vested interest in UBC.  The governance and academics at this post -secondary institution are important to me as a teacher in BC K-12 system, faculty at UBC, and as a mother of children who are attending, and will be attending, the university.  I would like to continue volunteering to serve ‘my’ university and bring my expertise as a teacher for students making the transition from high school to post-secondary, faculty member for current UBC students, and as a parent of high school students in addition to the one currently attending UBC. It would be an honor to serve as convocation member of the UBC Vancouver Senate for another term.
