Since graduating in 2015, I have been working as a Research Engineer at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre, which has put me at a crossroads of academia, industry, and medical services. As such, I interact constantly with professionals connected to UBC, including current students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The community of UBC-affiliated researchers in this field has repeatedly impressed me with its ability to not only utilize the resources of UBC proper, but to leverage an impressive breadth of local and international partnerships cultivated by the university. I think it is very important to focus on growing these networks and cementing UBC's reach and impact as the university continues to grow on the world stage.

As a UBC Vancouver alumni and member of the UBC community, I would like to contribute to academic oversight, reviewing of standards and practices, continued improvement of graduate standing, and modem adaptation of awards and community involvement at UBC. I hope to lend my perspective and deliberative talents to the organization through participation in the UBC senate.

I am therefore excited to put myself forward to serve as a representative of the Convocation on the Vancouver Senate of the University of British Columbia.
