OAMS Basic System and Email Set Up Instructions

This set of instructions will help guide you to complete and submit a request to the Academic Systems Support team to:

  • Create a new unit code in OAMS for your office
  • Create a new OAMS group email account for your office
  • Generate the OAMS stock reports to run for your office

As part of this module, please complete this OAMS Stock Report Request form.  You can refer to this document for samples of the OAMS stock reports.

It is recommended that, instead of using individual recipients' email addresses, an internal distribution mailing list should be used as the recipient of the requested OAMS stock reports.  An internal distribution mailing list allows your office's administrator to add or remove recipients of the OAMS stock reports, instead of relying on an external UBC IT team to manage the recipients of your office's OAMS stock reports.

The majority of the existing units have requested the OAMS stock reports to be distributed on a monthly basis; however, you may want to start the frequency of your reports to be on a weekly basis, and then submit a request to the Academic Systems Support team (contact information below) to change the reports' frequency at a later time.

This module must be completed prior to beginning the next modules.
