Through my role as Professor of Teaching (Education) and previously as Founding Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (2005-2015), I have worked cross-institutionally with faculty, staff and students to expand and enhance learning, teaching and scholarly opportunities. Additionally, since 2005, I served as an elected member on the Senate, Council of Senates, Council of Senates Budget Committee (Member, 2005-Present; Chair 2010-2013), chaired the Senate Learning and Research Committee (2005 - 2017), Senate Agenda Committee (2017 - Present), and Senate Curriculum Committee (2014 – Present). Representing all faculty on the Board of Governors is very important and I hope all faculty know they can contact me anytime to discuss any idea or challenge that arises. With support of faculty, I hope to leverage my work on Senate and other institutional committees to make a strong contribution as a member of the next UBC Board of Governors.
