HELLO UBC!

As a current Student Senator, AMS Councillor and AMS Human Resources Committee Chair, I have a proven track record of speaking up for numerous student issues, including meaningful and transparent student consultation, better mental health supports and increased club funding. Therefore, I am uniquely qualified to serve as your representative on the Chancellor Search Committee. As a member of both the UBC Board of Governors and Senate, the Chancellor is in a unique position to impact UBC decision-making and operations at the highest levels. Thus, it is crucial that the Chancellor not only embody a wide range of student values - including climate action and divestment, equity and inclusion and lowering the cost of education - but also be willing to do their part to make such changes a reality.

We need a Chancellor who will be more than a symbol; we need someone who will both be active in the UBC community and inspire students to reach their full potential. You have my guarantee that I will do everything I can to ensure the chosen person is committed to moving the university away from the failing status quo and instead, in a direction that is true to the university’s mission of serving students and the wider community. As an individual with a track record of accountability and advocating for student interests, I hope to count on your vote.
