Valerie Martin is a seasoned fundraising professional with over a decade of experience raising funds and awareness for important causes like childcare, healthcare and employment training. Since joining UBC in 2011 as an Associate Director with the Faculty of Applied Science, she has helped to raise over $70M for the Faculty, securing vital funding to support student scholarships and bursaries, capital projects and critical research areas such as clean energy, Indigenous community planning and nursing care for elderly patients.

She is incredibly passionate about helping UBC donors and alumni find meaningful ways to reconnect, stay engaged and support the University. Beyond working with individual supporters, Valerie has cultivated strong relationships with foundations and corporate partners across a variety of sectors to ensure that UBC remains a leading institution for higher education and can continue to provide an unparalleled research and learning environment.

She has taken on a new role as the Senior Associate Director, Faculty Campaign and will fundraise for the Faculty’s key priorities.
