Supporting Students Together
OAMS is a software tool that helps the UBC advising community provide consistent, timely, integrated support to students. As of Spring 2013, OAMS supports advisors serving over two-thirds of UBC’s student population.
When multiple advisors are supporting a student, OAMS helps re-integrate support by providing an advising connection point. A combination of student service and academic advising units use OAMS, so students are supported in a holistic way. For individual advisors, OAMS provides a place to keep important details discussed with a student.
Advising units as a whole also use OAMS to streamline student service. Day to day office functions such as managing lineups and documents can be done through OAMS
