Exam Blocks
The exam blocks break down as follows:
- A: 8:30 am
- B: 12:00 pm
- C: 3:30 pm
- D: 7:00 pm
Exams are normally 2.5 hours in length. Exams scheduled through Scheduling Services cannot be longer than three hours and must adhere to the exam blocks noted above. If you need to schedule an exam that is more or less than 2.5 hours in length, it is important to note this in the comment section in the exam request in Workday for accuracy on the student’s personal exam schedule and exam room scheduling.
Exams scheduled through Scheduling Services cannot be longer than three hours due to the preset exam blocks, the associated student exams and exam room bookings. Exams should also not be shorter than one hour.
Upper-level and graduate exams
Upper-level and graduate course sections can schedule exams at their convenience. Instructors/departments that opt to organize their own exams are reminded that the arrangement for the room and the exam booklets are the responsibility of the department.
